- Description
- Guns taken at the siege of Sevastopol. ( Now lost) They were mounted either side of an ornate plinth surmounted by a street lamp. The whole placed on a dais which was enclosed by railings. Dedicatory stone tablets on the side of the plinth. Tablets now set into the ground in Victoria Park.

- TABLET ONE: THESE RUSSIAN GUNS/ CAPTURED ON THE 8TH DAY OF SEPT 1855 BY THE/ VICTORIOUS ARMS OF HER MAJESTY AND HER ALLIES IN THE/ FORTRESS IN SEBASTOPOL, WERE PRESENTED TO THE MAYOR/ AND THE CORPORATION OF THE BOROUGH OF WARRINGTON BY HER/ MAJESTY'S GOVERMENT AS A MEMORIAL TO THE SUFFERINGS/ AND THE TRIUMPHS OF THE BRITISH ARMY IN THE CRIMEA TABLET TWO: MOUNTED/ AT THE EXPENSE OF/ GILBERT GREENALL ESQUIRE/ MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR THE/ BOROUGH OF WARRINGTON/ 1957
