Description
OCTAGONAL TEMPLE ON THE END OF A PIER PROJECTING INTO THE LAKE.; It was designed as a Gazebo or Belvedere and is built of dressed stone upon a random stone plinth or platform, which in turn is founded on solid rock. The roof is of wood, covered with lead, and on the top is a flagstaff from which a flag used to be flown on regatta days. It was originally called "The Temple of the Heroes"
