Description
Stone plinth surmounted by a large bronze lion statant with a foot resting upon a globe. Dedicatory inscription set into recessed panel on one side. Stone piers and wrought iron railings all around. On the front of the moulded corniches is a raised cartouche bearing the Borough Arms. At one end is a laurel wreath and on the other, palm branches. Each surmounted by a Monarchial Crown and the Red Rose of Lancashire.
