Description
Hall of Pelaw Brick with Norton stonework and slate. The hall seated 450 with a stage, cloakrooms, anterooms, a ladies parlour, kitchen and caretaker's house, all on a 1/2 acre site. The Hall was 50 feet long x 34 feet wide and a 12 foot stage. The cloakrooms were each 13 feet square, the Ladies Parlour was 27 feet x 18 feet, and the kitchen 12 feet x 10 feet with a boiler house beneath

1924: EXTENSION TO PROVIDE LIBRARY AND BILLIARD ROOM ADDED; In later years became the Empress Cinema, then a labour exchange and a warehouse. By 2017 old people's flats are on the site; 1985: HALL WAS DEMOLISHED AS IT HAD OUTLIVED ITS PURPOSE. PLAQUE WHICH WAS IN THE PORCH WAS MOVED TO THE COUNCIL OFFICES. SEE NIWM 41766
