PLAIN WHITE MARBLE INSCRIPTION TABLET WITH ORNATE DESIGNS CARVED AROUND IT. WHOLE IS MOUNTED ONTO A CONVEX HEADED BLACK BACKBOARD ABOVE THE INSCRIPTION TABLET ARE DEPICTED A GUN CARRIAGE DRAPED FLAGS AND CANNON BALLS. ADDITIONAL FLAGS FLANK THE INSCRIPTION TABLET. LAUREL GARLAND FLANKED BY TWO MEDALS CARVED AT THE BASE OF THE TABLET

HUNTINGDONSHIRE/ XXX1/ IN MEMORY OF/ COLONEL BOLTON C.B./ AIDE DE CAMP TO QUEEN VICTORIA/ WHO COMMANDED THE 31ST REGIMENT OF INFANTRY./ CAPTAIN WILLES AND LIEUTENANT HART AND BRENCHLEY/ ALL OF WHOM FELL MORTALLY WOUNDED AT THE BATTLE OF MOODKEE/ ON THE 18 DECEMBER 1845./ MAJOR BALDWIN LIEUTENANT POLLARD AND LIEUTENANT AND ADJUTANT BERNARD/ KILLED AT THE BATTLE OF FEROZESHAH/ ON THE 21ST AND 22ND DECEMBER 1845/ ENSIGNS TRITTON AND JONES/ WHO WERE KILLED WHILST CARRYING THE COLOURS OF THE REGIMENT/ AT BATTLE OF SOBRAON/ ON 10TH FEBRUARY 1846./ ALSO TO THE MEMORY OF/ THE NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND PRIVATE SOLDIERS OF THE REGIMENT/ NUMBERING TWO HUNDRED AND THREE/ WHO FELL AT THE BATTLES OF MOODKEE, FEROZESHAH AND BUDHOWAL/ ON THE 21ST JANUARY 1846./ ALIWAL ON THE 28TH JANUARY 1846 AND SOBRAON/ WHICH LAST VICTORY CONCLUDED THE CONQUEST OF THE BRITISH OVER THE SIKHS/ IN THE CAMPAIGN OF THE SUTLEJ./ THIS MONUMENT/ IS DEDICATED BY THE OFFICERS OF THE 31ST REGIMENT/ THEIR COMPANIONS IN ARMS.
