- Description
- Stone-built, gated War Shrine at the top of a hill, adjacent to an O.S. Triangulation pillar. Within the Shrine are two portrait oriented plaques bearing names of the Fallen from Havenstreet and Binstead villages. On the lintel above the gates is a dedicatory inscription. The War Shrine building is enclosed by a stone wall.

BORN AUG. 3RD 1896 KILLED IN ACTION AT THE BATTLE OF ROMANI EGYPT / AUG 4TH 1916 AND TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE FROM THE PARISHES OF BINSTEAD & HAVENSTREET WHO ALSO LAID DOWN THEIR / LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919.
