- Isle of Wight County Press, Friday 1st August 1952: reported that the Dr W L S Fleming (bishop of Portsmouth) had dedicated the WW2 memorial in St Paul's at the evensong service the previous Sunday, which was attended by a large congregation. 'As it was unveiled Mr R. J. Daltrey sounded the "Last Post," the Vicar (the Rev. L. J. D. Wheatley) then recited the exhortation to remembrance, and Mr Daltry sounded "Reveille."
- St Paul's, Barton website; History section: 'A stained glass window in the northern wall of the church was placed there by Elizabeth, the widow of Rev. William Henry Nutter, M.A. This window depicts St. Luke the healer, and is between the memorial tablets to the fallen in the First and Second World Wars. On them are the names of 124 men from the parish who died in the 1914-1918 War and 32 men in the 1939 -1945 conflict'. www.stpaulsbarton.co.uk/about-us/history/
