- History
- 2007: Wording around the base of the cross is weathered and some of the names are illegible so the Cathedral authorities have launched an appeal to raise money for the resotoration in time for the 90th anniversary of the end of WW1. 1984: Surveyed in October by Portsmouth City Museums Department and Department of Architecture and Civic Design. They noted slight surface erosion to the cross, some letters in the inscription have become illegible, some open joints and flagstone to the plinth is broken. Date unknown: New tablets placed over original name tablets
