- Description
- Marine propellor, plaque and wooden board mounted in a column on the side of a Defence School of Marine Engineering building. At the top of the column is a three-bladed marine propellor mounted onto a plain metal backboard. Backboard is painted black. In the middle of the column is a metal plaque in a wooden frame. Plaque is plain with HMS Sultan badge in centre. Inscription and badge in relief. At the base of the column are three plaques mounted onto a wooden board. Incised inscription on plaques in white lettering. At time of unveiling, the memorial consisted of a two-stepped brick plinth. On top of plinth was the marine propellor and metal backboard. On front face of plinth top step is a wooden version of the current metal plaque with HMS Sultan badge in centre.
