- Description
- Rectangular mahogany board, with a triangular top containing a brass Star of David. The inscription re names is in painted lettering. A small brass plaque at the foot of the board is inscribed with the donor's name. [N.B. The memorial inscription comprises a single alphabetical list of all casualties; it does not specify which World War each casualty died in. Details of an earlier version of the memorial - which hung in the Western Synagogue in Linnaeus Street - are in our record WMR/35437].

- Fighting Back: British Jewry's Military Contribution in the Second World War, by Martin Sugarman (p.421); Published by Vallentine Mitchell 2010 London and Portland, Oregon. Page 421 mentions that Captain Isidore Newman of the Special Operations Executive (who was murdered at Mauthausen Concentration Camp in September 1944, while a Prisoner of War and was posthumously awarded the MBE in 1947) is included on this memorial, which was erected by AJEX at the Pryme Street Synagogue in November 1994.
