TWO WALL-MOUNTED NOWY-HEADED TABLETS. BRONZE PLAQUES MOUNTED ON TABLETS. WHITE AND BLUE LETTERING. NAMES IN FOUR COLUMNS. INSCRIPTION AT TOP. CENTRAL TABLET IS WHITE MARBLE. CARVING IN PEDIMENT AT TOP OF EACH TABLET OF STAR OF DAVID WITHIN LAUREL WREATH WITH DATES OF WAR.

LEFT HAND TABLET: 1914 1919/ DEDICATED TO THE HONOURED MEMORY OF THE JEWS OF EAST LONDON,/ WHO WERE NUMBERED AMONG THOSE WHO, AT THE CALL OF KING AND COUNTRY/ LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR TO THEM, ENDURED HARDNESS, FACED DANGER AND FINALLY..../ (NAMES) RIGHT HAND TABLET: PASSED OUT OF THE SIGHT OF MEN BY THE PATH OF AND SELF-SACRIFICE,/ GIVING UP THEIR OWN LIVES THAT OTHERS MIGHT LIVE IN FREEDOM./ LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT THEIR NAMES ARE NOT FORGOTTEN/ (NAMES) CENTRAL PANEL: THESE ROLL OF HONOUR BOARDS/ WERE ORIGINALLY MOUNTED IN THE FOYER OF/ THE EAST LONDON SYNAGOGUE/ THEIR REDEDICATION TOOK PLACE ON/ SUNDAY 24 JUNE 1990/ CORRESPONDING TO ROSH CHODESH TAMMUZ 5750.
