- White marble tablet with triangular pediment mounted onto a dark grey marble backboard. Inscription in black lettering.

- IN EVER LOVING MEMORY OF/ GEORGE WILLIAM TAYLOR, OF CARSHALTON/ BARRISTER AT LAW, B.A., CAMBRIDGE, LIEUTENANT R.F.A./ BORN AT CARSHALTON PARK SEPTEMBER 29TH 1892, DIED IN FRANCE/ NOV. 9TH, 1917, OF WOUNDS RECEIVED IN ACTION, NOV. 2ND 1917./ EDUCATED AT ETON AND CAMBRIDGE, HE CHOSE THE BAR AS HIS PROFESSION/ BUT DIRECTLY WAR WAS DECLARED IN 1914, HE AT ONCE APPLIED FOR AND OBTAINED/ HIS COMMISSION IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY HAVING PREVIOUSLY SERVED IN/ THE CAMBRIDGE ARTILLERY. HE LIVED & THOUGHT & FOUGHT ENTHUSIASTICALLY,/ ALL THAT HE DID WAS DONE WELL, ALMOST WITH INSPIRATION./ TO THE SMALL AS TO THE GREAT EVENTS OF HIS LIFE HE BROUGHT ALL THE/ ENTHUSIASM & VITALITY OF HIS NATURE. THE OFFICER COMMANDING HIS/ BATTERY WROTE OF HIM "HE WAS IN MY OPINION THE BEST SUBULTERN/ AND LEADER OF MEN I HAVE EVER HAD THE LUCK TO HAVE IN MY BATTERY,/ OR TO MEET ELSEWHERE."/ THUS ENDED THE LIFE OF A GALLANT GENTLEMAN, WHO MADE THE SUPREME/ SACRIFICE FOR HIS COUNTRY, AS HE WAS ALWAYS PREPARED TO DO./ HE WAS BURIED IN DOZINGHEM BRITISH CEMETERY,/ WESTVLETEREN,/ N.W. OF POPERINGHE, BELGIUM./ TO ALL HIS RELATIONS & HIS MULTITUDE OF FRIENDS HIS LOSS IS IRREPARABLE
