Rectangular stone tablet bearing inscription surmounted by smaller plaque with name additions. Metal plaque mounted below. Cross depicted in upper centre on large tablet. Whole set within flower bed.

Small tablet above main: In loving memory of/ (Names)/ "The strift is o'er, the battle done."/ Alleluia Main tablet (most of this inscription written around a central cross): To the Glory of God and in sacred memory of/ The following parishioners of St. James' Upper Edmonton/ who gave their lives for their country in the Great War 1914-1919/ this tablet is erected./ "Brave men and worthy patriots. Dear to God."/ (Names) Metal plaque: these World War 1/ memorial tablets have been relocated by the/ London Borough of Enfield/ from the former St. James Church/ opposite and were re-dedicated on/ 15th November 1998.

c1998: Church closed and land sold for redevelopment. The Royal British Legion, Edmonton Branch, relocated the memorial to the opposite side of the road.
