ROMAN DORIC COLUMN WITH MOULDED CAPITAL AND CROSS SET ON TOP. WW2 BRONZE NAME PLAQUE FIXED TO BASE OF COLUMN. SET ON ROUND MOULDED PLINTH OF 3 STEPS. CROSS SHAPED CONCAVE MOULDED BASED WITH INSCRIBED PANELS (WW1) ON EACH SIDE.

FRONT: 1939-1945 / [3 NAMES] / ERECTED TO THE MEMORY OF ALL THE MEN OF BESTWOOD PARK WHO AT THE CALL OF KING AND COUNTRY LEFT ALL THAT WAS DEAR TO THEM, ENDURED HARDNESS, FACED DANGER AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF THE SIGHT OF MEN BY THE PATHS OF DUTY AND SELF SACRIFICE GIVING UP THEIR OWN LIVES THAT OTHERS MIGHT LIVE IN FREEDOM.
