History
2019/20: Bells removed from St John's Church to be taken to St Mary's Church, Stafford. They undergo restoration work at Nicholsons as a part of the move. 2009: Stoke on Trent Council refuse planning permission to remove the bells from the bell chamber. 2005: Feasibility study carried out for conversion of the church into an auditorium, music school of excellence, cafe, shop and rentable space. Plans include refurbishment of the bells 1988: Church made redundant and future of the memorial is uncertain. Friends of St John's set up in 1993 to try to save the building.
