Attended by: Mr. W. H. Stephens , father of the Sergeant W. H. Stephens, R.A.F., the first Old Boy to be killed in the war and by Dr. T. F. Rutter (Headmaster, 1907-37). Sergeant Stephens died at Heligoland in September 1939. - Opened

- Description
- Oak panelling in five sections. carved dedicatory inscription in the centre flanked by the names of 65 Old Medians and Wolstantonians who gave their lives in WW2. School crest and motto carved at the top centre of the panelling. It was originally hoped to use some of the money raised to build swimming baths but this was to big a project so two tennis courts were opened as part of the memorial to Old Boys killed in WW2 as well as encasing the school organ as well as renovations to it.

Comments: The War Memorial Committee aimed to money to provide school swimming baths - £10,000 needed and £1,300 raised by 1st December 1948. This was changed to tennis courts.
