- MAIN PART: ROLL OF HONOUR/ NO. 247/ (CHINA-BRITISH)/ FIGHTER SQUADRON/ ROYAL AIR FORCE./ (NAMES) UPPER RIGHT CORNER: "THE CHINA-BRITS."/ AN ODD MIX THAT MOULDED INTO ONE COMPOSITE WHOLE,/ THAT THOUGHT AND ACTED WITH ONE MIND AGAINST A COMMON FOE/ THEY THOUGHT OF ONLY AS WELL MATCHED AND EQUAL./ THEY HAD NO HATE, THEY DID NOT FIRE WITH VICIOUSNESS, NOR HATE,/ ONLY AS A DEFENCE AND WHAT MUST BE DONE,/ THOUGH SOME MAY LOSE THEIR LIVES IN CARRYING THROUGH THE INTENT./ LIFE, SOMEONE SAID, IS BUT A SMALL THING TO LOSE,/ BUT YOUNG MEN DO NOT THINK IT SO, AND THESE WERE YOUNG./ WE WHO ARE LEFT ARE NO LONGER OF THEIR AGE, AS ONCE WE WERE,/ YET WE REMEMBER THAT ONCE THEY FLEW BESIDE US, WING TO WING,/ NOW THEY KEEP FORMATION IN OUR HEARTS.
