BASE SURMOUNTED BY PLINTH AND BROKEN COLUMN. INCISED INSCRIPTION ON THREE SIDES OF THE PLINTH. WHOLE IS ENCLOSED BY LOW METAL RAILINGS LAUREL WREATH WITH RIBBON BOW IN RELIEF ON THE COLUMN

EAST FACE: (NAMES) NORTH FACE: I'CH COROR RHOISOCH CEWRI-OREOCH GWALD/ O SIRCH GWIR MEWN CYNI;/ TIRION IDDI/ WNAETH PRIDWERTH EICH HABERTH CHWI./ PARCH. W. MORRIS BRYN DU (Note: The words are by the Reverend William Morris and reflect the use of local poetry/prose on memorials in Welsh-speaking areas. The South Face inscription roughly translates as "This stone is raised in longing for the peace of the 11" and "In memory of those of Bryn Du Church who sacrificed their lives in the Great War" The words 'Hiraeth' and 'Chynulleidafa' are not directly translatable, both confirm the interpenetration of Land and Language in Welsh culture.
