- Description
- Parchment Roll of Honour. It is set behind glass in a wood frame which leaves 6 inches of parchment as a border. There is an ornate border of a scrolled pattern of white and gold on a blue background, and has at centre bottom a red roundel containing a gold lamp. The heading has a black background on which the lettering is painted in gold capitals. The initial "I" of "In" is illuminated like the outer edge, the letter itself is in red and contains an upturned sword in gold. The names are in three columns, which are sub-headed by the names of the villages represented, these names being depicted in the same way as the top heading. The names of the people are handwritten in black lower case lettering, those who were killed are identified with a cross, those who died while prisoners of war are identified by a cross with a dot in each angle.
