- Description
- FRAMED AND GLAZED ROLL OF HONOUR WITH ILLUMINATED BORDER. At the top are three medallions inside a laurel wreath, the central one bearing the dates '1 1914-1918". On either side, halfway up the border, is a sword surrounded by a laurel wreath. At the bottom is the Percy lion in blue, with the motto "Esperance en Dieu" ("Hope is in God"). The details are written in black ink, divided into spheres of service on the estates, the headings being in red plain italic letters. The names and other details are written in Gothic script in black ink, the names of those who died being highlighted with gold background. Note: There is also a Northumberland Estate WW2 Roll of Honour - see record 33506.
