Description
COPPER PLAQUE MOUNTED ON WOODEN BACKBOARD. INCISED BLACK LETTERING. There is a single line border, which is indented at each corner. In the squares thus created, in each corner the badge of the Durham Light Infantry is raised in half relief. The lettering is in elaborate capital letters throughout.

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF/ BASIL HUTTON RICHARDSON/ SEC. LIEUT. 8TH BATT. DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY,/ WHO DIED THE 31ST MAY 1915/ AT BRUDERHAUS, PADERBORN, WESTPHIALIA/ FROM WOUNDS RECEIVED AT THE BATTLE OF YPRES/ ON SUNDAY THE 25TH APRIL 1915,/ AGED 19 YEARS./ "HE BEING DEAD YET SPEAKETH".
