Nowy-headed brass plaque with mounted on green marble backboard. Incised inscription centred below regimental badge in relief, surrounded by incised foliated border.
Inscription
To the Glory of GOD/ and in loving memory of/ FREDERICK MERVIN HILLS/ 2nd Lieutenant Northamptonshire Regiment/ who volunteered for service early in the/ Great War and was killed in action/ near Ypres July 27th 1917 aged 34 years/ He rests in Perth Cemetery Zillibeke./ Sic itur ad astra.
