- UPPER PLAQUE: THESE PICTURES OF THE SACRED PASSION ARE PLACED HERE TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF LIEUTENANT VICTOR HUGHES, ADJUTANT MSC AND E MAUDE HIS WIFE./ HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION AT SHAHI-TANG WHILST LEADING HIS MEN AGAINST THE MAMUNDS ON THE FRONTIER OF INDIA, 16TH SEPT 1897, R.I.P. LOWER PLAQUE: THIS TABLET IS PLACED TO THE MEMORY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED E. MAUDE HUGHES WHO DIED JANUARY 30TH 1922.
