- Description
- Octagonal platform step with moulded edges surmounted by four-stepped octagonal base and octagonal plinth. All topped with dome-capped octagonal tapering pillar. Originally the pillar supported a cross decorated with four fleur-de-lys projections between the arm terminals. The cross fell off in the 1930s and has not been replaced. Incised inscription on plinth and base.

- c1950, cross fell off, but not replaced. (Historic England Listing states that the cross was lost in 1930s). 1990 : Several base stones replaced. November 2018 reported that an image of the original cross had been located which, together with some original pieces that have been recovered will be used to have a new top made by a local firm, O G Stonemasonry of North Leigh, Witney, Oxfordshire, who were preparing drawings for approval and subsequent application for planning permission and listed building consent.
