RECTANGULAR WHITE MARBLE TABLET SET WITHIN A ORNATE BLACK STONE FRAME IT IS SUPPORTED BY TWO MARBLE SHAFTS OF FLORIATED DESIGN WHICH SUPPORT A CORNICE. INSCRIPTION IN GOLD LETTERING AND BATTLE HONOURS IN BLACK LETTERING ON THE COLUMNS DECORATIVE BRONZE DIE AT THE BASE WITH SMALL ROUND GLASS CASE SET WITHIN IT WITH PENINSULA MEDAL WITH EIGHT CLASPS SET WITHIN IT

THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED IN 1913 BY/ THE KINGS OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY/ TO THE FOLLOWING OFFICERS AND NON/ COMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF THE 51ST/ LIGHT INFANTRY WHO LOST THEIR LIVES FOR/ THEIR COUNTRY IN THE WARS OF 1808 - 1814/ (NAMES)/ ALSO 640 RANK AND FILE OF THE/ REGIMENT WHOSE NAMES INSCRIBED ON A PARCHMENT ROLL ARE DEPOSITED WITH/ THE MINSTER AUTHORITIES
