IN MEMORY OF/ JOHN PICK ALLISON AND MARIA HIS WIFE,/ FOR MANY YEARS RESIDENTS OF THIS PARISH/ WHO DIED 8TH SEPT 1869 AND 12TH JULY 1866 /AND WERE INTERRED AT THIRSK. /ALSO OF THOMAS ALLISON SCOTT (34TH COY. MIDDLESEX YEOMANRY)/ GRANDSON OF THE ABOVE AND ONLY SON OF/ THOMAS HENRY SCOTT AND MARY ELIZABETH HIS WIFE./ HE WAS BORN IN THIS PARISH 2ND JAN 1877/ DIED 30TH DEC 1900 AT WINBURG, ORANGE RIVER STATE,/ S, AFRICA IN THE SERVICE OF HIS COUNTRY./ THIS TABLET IS PLACED HERE BY HIS/ MOTHER AND HER ONLY BROTHER W. ALLISON. IT IS WELL.
