WOODEN WALL PANELLING. CARVED LETTERING. EACH PANEL NOWY-HEADED WITH BORDER ACROSS TOP. CENTRAL POLISHED BRASS PANEL BEARS PLAQUE WITH INSCRIPTION. REGIMENTAL BADGE AT TOP CENTRE OF PLAQUE.

Top: I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE/ Left panel: Be thou/ faithful unto death and/ I will give thee the / the Crown/ of Life./ He that overcometh/ shall inherit these things/ and I will will be his God and/ he shall be my son. (...) Central panel inscription: In ever loving memory of/ WILLIAM HENRY KNOWLES/ Queen's Own Yorks Dragoons./ Attached Yorks. and Lancs/ Aged 25 Years/ Killed in Action at Passchandaele (SIC)/ October 9th 1917/ For God and King and Country./ Right panel: Yea rather think of this -/ He died as few men get the/ chance to die -/ Fighting to save a world's/ morality!/ He died the noblest death/ a man may die,/ Fighting for God and Right/ and Liberty,/ And such a death is immortality.
