Description
Figure of peace in robes and cloak holding out a laurel wreath in her right hand. On square pedestal with flanking walls bearing name panels: four WW1 arranged above and four smaller ww2 arranged below. On front of the pedestal is a small plaque bearing additional WW1 names. Wreath on front face of pedestal at the top. The NAMES INCLUDE PTE ERIC ANDERSON VC (5TH BN EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WADI AKARIT, TUNISIA, 6 APRIL 1943

2006: Bronze plaques were stolen. They were recovered but were badly damaged. Restored and returned to the memorial EXCELLENT CONDITION WHEN SURVEYED (1997) BUT HAS APPARENTLY BEEN SUBJECTED TO REPEATED VANDALISM IN THE PAST (SEE BOORMAN REFERENCE FROM 1988)
