- THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED IN MEMORY OF/LIEUT. MAYNARD MANSFIELD KNIGHT/YOUNGER SON OF R.L. KNIGHT AND LYDIA, HIS WIFE/OF BOBBING PLACE. BY THE MEN OF THE 1ST NATIVE/ BATT. MADRAS LABOUR CORPS WHO OF THEIR OWN/INITIATIVE RAISED THE FUND AND DECIDED TO PLACE/THIS TOKEN OF LOVE & RESPECT IN THE CHURCH/OF HIS FATHER. HE DIED AT MIRGANA. MESOPOTAMIA/ JANY 28TH 1919.
