- Description pre 1992: Two-stepped octagonal base surmounted by octagonal plinth with gabled top, shaft and crucifix. WW1and WW2 inscription on bronze plaques attached to the sides of the base.

- Condition pre 1992: 6 O'CLOCK FACE: IN LOVING AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THE VILLAGE OF ROYSTON WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 3, 4.30, 7.30 AND 9 O'CLOCK FACES: (NAMES) 12 AND 2.30 FACE: 1939 - 1945/ (NAMES) Update 2014: As the position of memorial has changed it is difficult to relate the details above to the current situation. There are 4 WW1 plaques and 3 new bronze plaques bearing WW2 names placed over the previously inscribed names.
