A peel of eight bells and a clock in the tower. Dedication inscribed on a stone tablet surmounting a brick wall. Dedication and names are in black lettering.

Tablet: THE PEAL OF EIGHT BELLS AND CLOCK WERE PLACED IN THE TOWER OF ST MARY'S CHURCH, HANDSWORTH BY PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN EVERLASTING MEMORY OF THESE MEN OF HANDSWORTH AND RICHMOND WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR/ (NAMES)/ "LEST WE FORGET" DEC 1920
