Description
A rectangular sandstone ashlar pillar and pedestal on a raised stepped base with sandstone pillars at each corner. Inscription in raised upright capital letters on bronze plaques on 6 and 9 o'clock faces of pillar. Dates incised in 6 and 9 o'clock faces of pedestal. All surrounded with a raised flower bed, access steps and gravel path (detail) within an enclosure of iron railings.

August 2008: Plugged holes on the 3 o'clock face of the pillar suggest that a decoration or tablet has been removed. Some spalling on the 12 o'clock face of the pillar has been discreetly reinforced with metal pins.
