A PIECE OF WOOD FROM YPRES CATHEDRAL IS MOUNTED ON THE SOUTH WALL BESIDE THE PULPIT. THE PIECE OF WOOD IS CIRCULAR IN CROSS SECTION AND 150mm HIGH. THE WOOD CONTAINS THE INSCRIPTION "FROM YPRES CATHEDRAL 6/12/1918"

- Description
- THE LECTERN IS PLACED ON A TWO-STEPPED BASE AND COMPRISES A SQUARE COLUMN AND BRONZE LECTERN. THE INSCRIPTION ON THE SQUARE COLUMN COMPRISES BLACK UPPER CASE LETTERING ON TWO SIDES OF THE COLUMN; THE FRONT FACE CONTAINS THE NAMES OF THE FALLEN FROM WW1 AND ANOTHER SIDE CONTAINS THE NAMES OF THE FALLEN FROM WW2. THE LECTERN IS MODELLED IN THE SHAPE OF A GOLDEN EAGLE. A BRONZE PLAQUE, IN THE SHAPE OF A LAUREL WREATH, IS PLACED IMMEDIATELY ABOVE THE NAMES OF THE FALLEN FROM WW1 AND CONTAINS SOME OF THE INSCRIPTION.
