Description
Ornate wheel cross with carved head. Cross surmounts tapering shaft. Shaft stands in octagonal plinth which surmounts three-stepped base. Names inscribed on octagonal plinth.

History
c 2010: Fence added around memorial. Time capsule added to memorial. c 2009: Memorial relocated from St Michaels and All Saints Church to junction of Downing Street and Mansfield Road. Addition of tablets with names to plinth as stone was too soft to re-cut inscriptions. 2009, April: Community members seeking to relocate the memorial also arranged for its cleaning and the refitting of the plaques with the names inscriptions. 2007: & £5000 secured from Notts County for hard landscaping. More funds were raised (approximately & £20,000) to recut the names)
