Oval white marble tablet. Laurel wreath surround, badge of the dorsetshire regt. at the top and ribbon and medal of MC at the bottom.

Erected by the Parishioners / in loving memory of / WILLIAM BENSLEY ALGEO M.C. / CAPTAIN 1ST BATTn. DORSETSHIRE REGt. / the dearly loved and only child / of the Rector of this Parish and Georgina his wife / Killed in Action near Thiepval, France / on the 17th day of May 1916 Aged 28 / "in sure and certain hope"
