Description
Serviceman surmounting circular stepped pedestal which itself surmounts a large, stone hexagonal plinth with four steps. This plinth bears plaques. Arms of West Riding of York and Halifax on name plaques, carved equipment on pedestal, relief frieze of cavalry and horse artillery around drum. Soldier is in tropical dress with binoculars and slung rifle.

14th July 2008: One of the bronze plaques stolen and two others damaged. Removed for safekeeping. Vulnerable due to exposed site. See Page 21 of October 2017 Dalesman magazine for appeal for funds to restore the memorial
