History
2008: December: The Parochial Church Council has asked Newton Abbot Town Council to take over maintenance of the memorial. November: Memorial restored due to an anonymous £1,000 donation from an ex-naval officer. Names re-lettered, all except one which it has not been possible to trace as yet. August: Memorial badly weathered. 2001: Railings around memorial refurbished and painted. 2000: Some of the lead lettering has fallen off and one of the names has become illegible as a result.
