BORN 26TH AUGUST 1873 AND /BAPTISED IN THIS CHURCH- HE WAS THE YOUNGEST/ SON OF WILLIAM AND CHARLOTTE BARRETT OF /MOREDON NORTH CURRY./ EDUCATED AT ETON AND THE ROYAL MILITARY /COLLEGE, SANDHURST, SERVED IN THE SOUTH /AFRICAN WAR COMMENCING IN MARCH 1900/ WITH THE OEPRATIONS IN NATAL, THE TRANSVAAL/ AND THE ORANGE RIVER COLONY, AND THE ACTION OF/ RUIDAM, AND GAINED THE QUEEN'S MEDAL WITH THREE CLASPS.// THIS BRASS IS PLACED HERE BY HIS WIFE
