  • Liverpool Echo - Thursday 26 May 1983 Request for names of Huyton servicemen who fell in WW2 to be submitted to be added to the Huyton War Memorial.
  • Liverpool Echo - Saturday 26 November 1983 Salute to war heroes A plaque bearing names of 121 Huyton residents who fell (in WW2) is to be added to the War Memorial along with a 24 year old Huyton sailor who died on H.M.S. ARDENT during the Falklands campaign. To be a permanent display in Birkenhead Town Hall recogising Wirral servicemen awarded the V.C.
