THREE LIGHT STAINED GLASS WINDOW DECORATED AS BELOW WINDOW DEPICTS CHRIST CRICIFIED. AT HIS FEET SEMI-RECUMBENT FIGURE OF OFFICER IN UNFIRM WITH LIEUTENANTS INSIGNIA ON ONE SLEEVE, SAM BROWN BELT, CAP BESIDE HIM AND ONE NAILED BOOT SOLE OUTWARDS

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN EDWARD HYLAND/ LIEUT RMLI KILLED IN ACTION LEADING AND ENCOURAGING HIS MEN IN/ GALLIPOLI, MAY 1915 AGED 19 YEARS, SON OF THE RECTOR OF THIS/ PARISH THIS WINDOW WAS ERECTED BY HIS SORROWING PARENTS/ "ONE OF YOUR SON'S LAST ACTS WAS TO HELP/ HIS CAPTAIN WHO WAS WOUNDED. THE RIDGE WAS SWEPT BY RIFLE AND MACHINE-/ GUN FIRE. JOHN LED HIS PLATOON UP THE SLOPE WAS THE FIRST TO REACH THE TOP, WHEN HE TURNED TO ENCOURAGE HIS MEN TO A LAST BURST" (FOLLOWED BY 54 LINES OF VERSE)
