The inscription is framed by red and black lines with a fleur-de-lys in each corner, and a small red cross above and below the inscription. Incised Roman lettering caps and l/c.

SACRED/ TO THE MEMORY OF/ WARD SOANE BRAHAM/ YOUNGEST SON OF JOHN BRAHAM/ BORN IN LONDON APRIL 19TH 1824/ DIED AT VIEW ISLAND NEAR READING FEB 26TH 1877/ MAJOR IN THE ROYAL BERKS REGT OF MILITIA/ THE LOSS OF ONE WHOSE GIFTS OF/ COMPANIONSHIP WERE AS RARE AS HIS/ SYMPATHIES WERE READY ANDTRUE/ WAS DEEPLY FELT IN WHAT WAS THEN A HOME/ AND THAT SORROW WAS SHARED BY MANY FRIENDS/ HIS BODY WAS REMOVED FROM KENSAL GREEN/ CEMETERY AND LAID IN THIS CHURCHYARD ON/ AUGUST 14TH 1979 BESIDE THAT OF HIS SISTER/ FRANCES COUNTESS WALDEGRAVE IN ACCORDANCE/ WITH HER WISHES AND INTENTION/ "THEY ARE THINE O LORD THOU LOVER OF SOULS"
