Cast bronze plaque with raised oak-leaf and acorn border. The Wallasey Borough Police badge is at top-centre, below which is the inscription in raised lettering.

Wallasey County Borough Police was amalgamated with Cheshire Constabulary in 1967. In 1974 the Wallasey area was transferred to Merseyside Police, who are therefore now the custodians of the memorial.

  • Helmets, Handcuffs and Hoses, The Story of The Wallasey Police and Fire Brigade, Part One: The Wallasey Police, by Noel E. Smith, published 2002. ISBN-10 0951776231. (Pages 74 and 75 refer to the unveiling of the memorial. The book also gives biographical data of casualties and those who had enlisted/been recalled to the Colours, as well as those who served as Wallasey Borough Police officers during both World Wars. Page 117 mentions the opening of the new Manor Road Police Station on 28/11/1973, at which time the memorial was relocated from the former Station to the entrance foyer at its present site).
