Description
Memorial Altar of oak in the War Memorial Chapel. The top has a central panel in a wide frame which has a moulded edge on three sides. There are five incised Moline Crosses, one in each corner and one centrally. The front of the altar consists of three bays divided centrally by a muntin. The stiles have three stepped moulding at the top, one at the centre and one at the base. The bays have an upper ogee moulding with oak leaves at the two corners, the centre bay has a square rosette of oak leaves at the apex of each ogee, while the two side bays have an open work tracery of quatrefoils. All these have four open work trefoil lights below. The lower stage has blind cinquefoil headed arches applied to the fielded panels. All frame members have applied mouldings and the base has a chamfered top edge. The sides of the Altar are divided into four panels by grooved and moulded applied members.
