Description
Wall mounted, decoratively designed tablet with an arch and columns on either side of the insciption, plaque and painting, reflecting the Romanesque character of the church's exterior. The metal plaque with bas-relief of a kneeling soldier in uniform with small pack, cape and bayonet in scabbard. His head is bowed and he is holding up an oil lamp, his steel helmet on the ground in front of him. The painting depicts an angel reading the names of the fallen with two others praising and thanking God for the spirit of sacrifice which he has instilled in mankind.
