Description
A Portland stone cross set on an octagonal tapering column. The column surmounts an octagonal stone base whose 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock faces bear the dedicatory inscriptions re WW1 and WW2 respectively. That plinth has a square Portland stone pedestal (on whose 12 o'clock face rests a tablet bearing the names of 6 WW2 casualties). The pedestal stands on a concrete two-step base. (N.B. The names of the parishioners who served/died in WW1 are not recorded on this memorial; the 12 of them who died in that War are commemorated by name on a tablet within St Nicholas' Church - for which see our reference 22976).
