- Chelmsford Chronicle - Friday 19 December 1919 HAWKWELL. War Memorial. On Sunday, at the Church, the Rector, the Rev. G. Padfield, dedicated a memorial window depicting St. Nicholas and St. George, and a marble tablet with the names of seven men from the village who fell in the war, and a roll of honour with the names of 76 men who served. - POSSIBLY THIS IS A DIFFERENT MEMORIAL.
