Description
Square section column, surmounted by a cast bronze figure of a soldier, bare-headed, with belt, haversack and water bottle, standing with a short Lee-Enfield rifle in reverse arms. A steel helmet is at his feet. Two sets of four cast bronze plaques are mounted on the sides of the column. The upper set carries the WW1 Names, the lower set the WW2 Names. Beneath the plaques on the front face is a yellow marble tablet carrying addenda from both conflicts, incised and gilded, within a gilded border. There is a Stafford knot at the base of each of the WW2 plaques.
