SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF OUR DEARLY BELOVED YOUNGER SON, BERTRAM HUMPHREY COLLIS, 2ND LIEUT THE SUFFOLK REGIMENT, WHO JOINED THE FORCES, SEPTEMBER 1ST 1914, AND DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED AT ST JEAN (YPRES), DECEMBER 20TH 1915 AND WAS LAID TO REST IN THE MILITARY CEMETERY OF LISSENTHOCK, AGED 19 YEARS. 'GREATER LOVE THAT NO MAN THAN THIS - THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS'. THIS TABLET IS DEDICATED BY HIS PARENTS, WILLIAM AND LAURA COLLIS.
