Description
The memorial consists of a cross made of clipsham stone in the gothic style of architecture with a hexagonal base surmounted by four pillars supporting the cross. On each side of the base , in three panels, are the names of the fallen, the total number being 442. The total height of the memorial is c7770mm (25 feet, 6 inches)

The inscription that runs around the upper part of the base is "TRUE LOVE BY LIFE, TRUE LOVE BY DEATH IS TRIED; LIVE THOU FOR ENGLAND, WE FOR ENGLAND DIED" / (442 names)
