Description
Rectangular brass plaque bearing the Lancashire Constabulary crest at top-centre, within a wooden frame. The inscription is in incised black lettering. (The inclusion of the Lancashire Constabulary crest on this combined WW1/WW2 plaque implies that this memorial was created after St Helen's Borough Constabulary was absorbed into that Constabulary in 1969, and before St Helen's became a Division of Merseyside Police in 1974. The plaque bears the same names that were listed on the original memorials erected by the Constabulary after each of the World Wars, which now hang in the St Helens Police Clubhouse - see our records 94617 and 94678).
